We are planning three events for members this year.

The first was during the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway’s Steam Gala on Saturday 12 March.

The second event will be during the East Lancashire Railway’s Steam Gala on Saturday 18 June; full details are in Magazine 291.

The third event will be our AGM and Members’ Day which will be at The Fielden Centre in Todmorden on Saturday 8 October; full details will be published nearer the time.

Animated Passenger Timetable

L&YR Society members, Brian Farrimond, John McGiveron, Frank Ball and Alec Ralph have transcribed the L&YR tables of Bradshaw’s Railway Guide of 1906. The transcription has been used to create on-line animations of the running of the L&YR passenger service on a week day and a Sunday.

The transcription will also be used by the Edge Hill University 3D Parametric Modelling Project in their development of tools to create a visualisation of the entire railway.

More information and links to the animations can be found here.
